To me the first one was a very relaxing and focused exercise that was easy to stay connected with. I also think that I followed it much better and actually had a pleasant time doing it. I was also enjoyable and more realistic.
The second exercise was pretty irritating from the beginning. The first thing that I noticed was that the voice that we were to follow throughout the exercise. I should actually point out that both voices, the male and female voices were nauseating by the end of the exercise. I was so annoyed with the fact that there were so many pauses that seemed to last forever and the phony way the instructions were delivered. I would probably refuse to do the activity again if I was asked to.
I never actually thought about the connection needed for a total well being until I was in the class that I'm taking now. I still don't really think that you need that connection to be whole, but I have to say that after being in the class and reading the text...much of the material is convincing. Honestly, I haven't felt a connection even with the class and the exercises, but I do think that some of the language used would make an impact on many that could greatly utilize it.
Thanks!
Hi Steven-
ReplyDeleteI had mixed feelings about the second exercise. The first felt easier to achieve, though I kept forgetting what came next and had to cheat and look at the book. A little distracting, but I probably just need to perform it more to memorize the steps.
As for the second exercise, the voices helped to keep me on track, but I agree, it did get annoying. I know the voices are supposed to be calming, but it kind of sounded like someone talking to a cranky baby - though I pretty much was one by the end! lol
