Wow, these exercise are just not for me. I've really tried to get into them, but I simply can't. This was another difficult one. I even prepped myself for this one. I read all of the instructions before participating and that didn't help at all. I found myself actually getting tongue tied when I was reading the phrases. I actually experienced pretty much of the exact opposite of what the exercise was supposed to get me to do. Frustration and annoyance would be the two words that I would do describe it. The assessment was a bit easier to follow for me and placed more emphasis one area...that I got to pick. Not that a really enjoyed it, it wasn't nauseating to participate in.
The self reflection or what I learned about myself post the assessment and exercise were nearly nonexistent. For material that I meant to be focused it all seems very unfocused.
I chose my psychospiritial component to become more focused on as far gaining and developing. I know that this is an area where I could more growth that could allow me to harness more personal emotions and feelings. I also think that it would allow me to relate to and give better feedback to others.
I would actually like to participate in more of the meditation exercises like the one that was in unit two. I found a really good connection with one and found it relaxing, helpful, and focused.
Thanks!
Sorry that these exercises are not working for you, as myself I find that I am in the same boat as you. I am not a quiet, focus on the words person. I feel better when working out and meditate that way or focusing on my family. Do you workout? If you do, do you find it better to clear your mind?
ReplyDeleteI can completely understand why you say these exercise are just not for you and it can be hard tried to get into them, but you simply have to let your heart and mind flow. Sometimes prepping is not always the solution, sometimes you have to just simply go with the flow and let the journey be mystical journey and see where the rides takes you. You can get tongue tied when reading the phrases, your mind may even draw a blank, and it can get frustrated, but you have to have an open concept. The self-reflection or what you learned about me in the assessment and exercise can be nonexistent, because you are not the outside person looking in. I think participating in more of the meditation exercises like the one in unit two would be beneficial to you. Great effort in trying and not giving up is achievement within itself.
